For people who live in the terminal, Claude Code turns Google Ads into something you can script and version. Briefs live in Markdown, reports land as CSV in your project, and the assistant can read your landing pages' source to write better ads.

Setup

claude mcp add --transport http paidhelm https://mcp.paidhelm.com/googleads/mcp
Then start Claude Code and run /mcp. Select paidhelm → Authenticate; your browser opens Google's consent screen. Done.

Team setup (shared in the repo):

claude mcp add --transport http --scope project paidhelm https://mcp.paidhelm.com/googleads/mcp
What it's good for

Reports to files. "Pull last month's keyword report for account 123 and save it as reports/2026-10-keywords.csv."

Bulk operations from files. "Read negatives.txt and add each line as a campaign-level phrase negative to campaign 987."

Campaign builds from briefs. "Read briefs/spring-sale.md and build the Search campaign it describes, paused."

Landing-page-aware ads. "Read src/pages/pricing.tsx and write 15 RSA headlines that match the actual offer, then update ad 555."

Scheduled summaries. A cron job running claude -p "weekly review for Acme, write to reports/".

CLAUDE.md snippet

# Google Ads (PaidHelm)
- Accounts: Acme 123-456-7890, Bolt 234-567-8901
- Show changes before executing. Never exceed +20% budget per step.
- Campaigns paused by default; exact + phrase match only.
- Save every report under reports/YYYY-MM-DD-*.csv
Troubleshooting

/mcp shows "needs authentication": select the server and authenticate again.

Behind a proxy: set HTTPS_PROXY; OAuth redirects need the local callback port open.

## FAQ

**Can I share the configuration with my team?**

Yes. Use --scope project to write the server into .mcp.json in the repository; each teammate authenticates with their own Google account on first use.

**Does Claude Code count as a separate PaidHelm account?**

No. PaidHelm accounts are per Google login. The same login used in Claude web and Claude Code shares one plan and quota.

**Can I run it non-interactively?**

Yes, with claude -p for one-shot prompts once authenticated, which makes scheduled reports possible with cron.
