Google Ads inside Cursor
Add PaidHelm to Cursor's mcp.json and let the Cursor agent run Google Ads reports, write ads from your codebase, and build campaigns while you ship landing pages.
Marketing sites and ad campaigns are built by the same people more often than ever. With PaidHelm in Cursor, the agent that edits your landing page can also read the search terms that land on it and write ads that match the copy it just shipped.
Setup
Create or edit .cursor/mcp.json (project) or ~/.cursor/mcp.json (global):
{
"mcpServers": {
"paidhelm": {
"url": "https://mcp.paidhelm.com/googleads/mcp"
}
}
}
Open Settings → MCP; PaidHelm appears with a Needs login state. Click it, finish Google's consent screen, and the tool list loads.
Using it
In Agent mode, mention what you want; Cursor picks the tools.
Rules file
Add a .cursor/rules/google-ads.mdc with your guardrails (accounts, budget limits, "paused by default") so every agent run follows them.
Index the docs
Cursor can index paidhelm.com/docs via @Docs → Add new doc. The agent then has the full tool catalog and GAQL reference at hand.
Troubleshooting
- Server shows red: check JSON syntax and that the URL ends with
/googleads/mcp. - OAuth loop: Cursor needs to accept the callback; make sure no extension blocks localhost redirects.
