Troubleshooting
Fixes for the most common PaidHelm issues: connector will not connect, Google account without access, developer token or customer not enabled errors, tools not showing, quota reached, and reconnecting after revocation.
The connector will not connect
- Check the URL:
https://mcp.paidhelm.com/googleads/mcp(with/googleads). The bare domain is not the server. - Pop-up blockers can swallow the Google window. Allow pop-ups for your assistant's site and retry.
- If your client only supports SSE, use
https://mcp.paidhelm.com/googleads/sse. - Corporate networks sometimes block OAuth redirects; try from another network to isolate.
"No Google Ads accounts found" or "user doesn't have permission"
You signed in with a Google account that has no Google Ads access, or the account was removed. Disconnect in the portal and reconnect with the login you use at ads.google.com. See Connecting Google Ads.
"CUSTOMER_NOT_ENABLED" or "account is not active"
The Google Ads account is cancelled, suspended or has not finished billing setup. Fix the account in Google Ads first.
"Metrics cannot be requested for a manager account"
Performance metrics must be queried per client account. Ask for a specific client or "all accounts" and the assistant will iterate.
Tools are not appearing
- Make sure the connector is enabled for the current chat (tools menu in Claude/ChatGPT).
- Restart the client after adding a server (Cursor, Windsurf, VS Code).
- In Claude Code run
/mcpto check status and re-authenticate.
"Quota reached"
You used all tasks for this cycle. Ask the assistant for plan_usage to see the renewal date or upgrade_plan to upgrade instantly. See Plans and tasks.
Reconnecting after revoking at Google
Disconnect and reconnect the connector in your client. The Google screen appears again and a new token is stored.
A change didn't apply
Ask the assistant to show the exact error. Google Ads API errors are descriptive (policy violation, invalid final URL, budget too low). The assistant can usually fix and retry. If you suspect a PaidHelm issue, email [email protected] with the time and the tool name.
